MacArthur Museum

One Sunday afternoon we visited the MacArthur Museum. General McArthur had his offices headquartered here in Brisbane during WWII from July 1942 to November 1944 in the largest office building at the time. It was interesting to go through and see how the American presence changed the city of Brisbane.  One interesting fact was to hear that the US Naval Convoy arrived on December 22, 1941 at Brett’s Wharf. We had just taken the ferry to Brett’s Wharf and had dinner there. At the end of the tour we were able to go into his office.

If you would like to learn more the website for the museum is http://www.macarthurmuseumbrisbane.org/

General MacArthur's Office is on the corner of the eighth floor
