Vacation Week - Out and About

While on vacation we also did some grocery shopping with Mom, helped Dad paint a window frame, went blueberry picking, out to brunch for Mom’s 82nd birthday, went to a drive in movie, went out on boat rides and did some swimming. Tuesday we went into Rochester and visited Bob’s mother and then we met the kids for dinner at one of the family's favorite places – Krony’s!

The second week at the cottage, Bob joined me and we were able to enjoy a week together at the cottage.  It was a beautiful week and we had a nice time with Mom and Dad and just enjoyed some rest and relaxation.

Family Camp and Sunsets

What a beautiful vantage point we have to sit and enjoy the awesome sunsets. After services we gather again on the front bank and watch the beautiful painting God paints for us with the sunset colors.

Family Camp and Family

During Family Camp we were able to enjoy being with 29 of the 41 members of the King family. It was great seeing the different generations enjoying each other and having fun.

Family Camp – Ben, Christy and Maddie Visit

On July 4, it has become a tradition for Ben, Christy and Maddie to come to the cottage for the day. This year they were able to make it for the delicious and yummy Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ lunch!  Afterwards we sat out on the bank and enjoyed visiting with family. It was a warmer day but there was a beautiful breeze by the lake.

We had a good time and a few laughs looking at all the past family calendars and seeing the way the family has grown and changed over the years. Maddie enjoyed swimming in the pool with her cousins, having a snack and hanging out on the blanket while Mom and Dad had a chance to visit. Grandma, Daddy and Maddie went for a ride on Great Papa's  cart too!

Family Camp – Phil, Rachel and Annika Visit

Phil, Rachel and Annika were able to come up on the first Sunday of Family camp. They arrived after Phil had preached in Buffalo and visited at his cousin Matthew’s for lunch. We hung out on the bank with family, ate supper and Phil and I went to the evening service while Rachel put Annika to bed.

The next morning Phil was up early and went kayaking with his Uncle Vern down to the marina and up the creek. They were gone for about an hour and a half and had a nice calm lake. We went down to the Lighthouse cafĂ© where you can enjoy something to drink and a pastry. Annika enjoyed munching on Mommy’s chocolate donut. We toured the camp to show Rachel around for the first time and for Phillip to see some of the changes since his last visit.  We had a nice lunch before they left.
