What a blessing to be able to spend Family Camp at my parents’
summer home.
Growing up it was where we spent most of our summers with
ten days of family camp followed by a week each of girls’ camp, boys’ camp and
teen camp. For the last three years I have been able to go back and spend the
week there with my parents and all my sisters. Two sisters have their own place
but we all hang out in front of Mom and Dad’s or next door at my sister’s cottage.
At the state park nearby you can walk over and visit the
Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse. For many years we could see the lighthouse as we
arrived at camp and were able to see the light circle around and light up the
trees as we lay in bed.
It is a great place to get away from the rush of the world
and relax (as phone service is limited by roaming). It is peaceful and relaxing
and a wonderful place to refresh yourself and your relationship with God.
